You can convert any documents that are scanned from scanned image PDFs to OCR in YuJa Panorama.
- Click on the Panorama icon by the PDF.

- Click “OCR Formats”.

- Select an OCR format to convert the file to.
An overlaid PDF will retain imagery and formats, so if you have a fancy looking PDF that images or formatting are important in, YuJa recommends using this option.
If you have a PDF that the images or formatting don’t matter, such as a scanned textbook or article, they recommend the Reconstructed PDF. This will remove the image content.
Once you select the type you want to generate, it will generate.
When finished, the screen will let you review it, download it, etc.
- Click “Back”.
- Next, click “View” to view the Accessibility Report for the PDF.

- On the Accessibility Report page, scroll down to the Update Document area, click the three dots to expand the menu, and select “Replace with Alternative Format”.

- On the next screen, select the OCR document you just generated, and click Replace.

Note that this may not “fix” all of the accessibility issues present in the document after converting from scanned images. You may need to do additional remediation in Adobe Acrobat or other applications to resolve any other issues Panorama detects.
