Connecting IOS devices to campus wi-fi (Bloomsburg and Mansfield campuses)

To connect your IOS device to the wi-fi

*** Please note: You are not required to connect to CU ONLINE SECURE.  You are able to follow the steps below and stop at connecting to CU ONLINE.  CU ONLINE is an encrypted network but CU ONLINE SECURE has a higher security than the CU ONLINE network does.*** 

  1. Open settings

  2. Click on Wi-Fi
  3. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) Click on the 'i' symbol next to CU Online
  4. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) On the CU Online settings page, you will need to change Private Wi-Fi Address to Off. You will see a prompt to “Allow this device to be tracked by Wi-Fi Networks and nearby Wi-Fi devices when using “CU Online”.  You will need to click on Allow Tracking.  This is an important step.  You may also see this labeled as MAC address randomization.     1. After clicking on the Allow Tracking button your device will connect to the CU Online network.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    2. Upon connection, you should be automatically be directed to the Network registration page.  Select the appropriate account type to login.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

For CU Staff/Fac/Students:

  1. Select the Register this device link Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Login with your campus email credentials Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Once logged in, you will then need to fill out the registration information in the form and select Create Device.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. You will then be directed to successfully created screen with your devices MAC address and your Wi-Fi password.You should also receive a text message at the same time with the password information.

  5. You can now go back to your phone settings à Wi-Fi and select the 'i' symbol next to CU Online Secure.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. On the CU Online Secure settings page, you will need to change Private Wi-Fi Address to Off.   7. You will also need to select Join This Network and put the password that was sent to you from the registration page.

  8. You should now be connected to the CU Online Secure Wi-Fi network.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  9. If you forget your wi-fi password you can login to netreg.commonwealthu.edu from another device.You can also manually register your devices on this screen if you choose to do so.
    1. Click on manage devices
    2. Locate the device name that you want to look at
    3. Select edit
    4. You will see your Wi-Fi Password listed

***If you are still having trouble connecting your device, please visit the helpdesk or call at 877-435-7280 (option 2, 3, or 4).  Office hours are M-F 8-4:30. With the variety of devices available, visiting the helpdesk may be a better solution. ***
