How to add a statement on AI usage in your course to Brightspace content

This article will walk you through adding a content item on the level of acceptable AI use to your course from the Brightspace LOR.

Body

There are three objects in the Learning Object Repository that are intended to help faculty provide a statement in their Brightspace course as to the level of acceptable AI use in the course. These can be added from the LOR to course content following the directions below.

  1. Click Content.
  2. Click into the module you want to add the statement to (we recommend putting this in something like Getting Started, Welcome, or Course Information alongside your syllabus and other course policies).
  3. Click the Upload/Create button.
  4. Select Add Object from LOR.

  5. On the Add Object from LOR screen, search for "cats, ai".

  6. Results will display. Select the topic that most closely aligns with the acceptable level of use of AI in your course and click Next.
  7. On the Retrieve Object screen, select "Dynamic Link to Newest Version".
  8. Click Next.

  9. Click Create Topic.

The topic you selected will appear in your content module as dynamically linked content that stays up to date with the most current version in the LOR.
