Canon Vixia HF R Series Media Transfer

This article provides the steps necessary to copy media from Canon Vixia HF R Series handheld cameras to a Mac for video editing projects.

1. Power on camera
2. Press button to enter media browse mode
3. Connect USB cable to camera and computer
4. Open the "Photos" App
   
5. Select the camera in the "Devices" section of the left sidebar
   
6. If you want to import all of the content from the camera, click "Import All New Video"
   
7. If you only want to import specific content, click the items to select them
   
8. Then click "Import # Selected"
   
9. Wait for the import to finish, this may take some time
10. In the finder, browse to your project folder on EVO or your external drive
11. In the "Imports" tab of the Photos App, select all of the files you want to copy (Command-A to select all)
    
12. Drag the files into the project folder in Finder
13. Wait for the copy to finish, this may take some time
14. Close the Photos App
15. Open your Adobe Premiere Pro Project
16. Import the files from the project folder
