Brightspace has a date-based courses system.
Courses automatically open on the first day of the term (at midnight) and automatically close 14 days after finals for each term. Outside of this availability window, students can see upcoming and past courses, but cannot enter them.

Please note: Instructors can override this behavior, and may opt to open courses early.
We highly recommend that students retrieve any course content or submissions of their work before the course close date. After the course closes, you will not be able to enter the course.
I need access to a closed or past course...
If you need access to a past course, please contact your instructor. This includes students doing an Incomplete. Instructors can override the closed course, per student.
